What are Civil Rights?
Considering the basic definition and your recollection of your studies in 7th and 8th grade and events in your world --> In small groups place as many specific civil rights on as many post its as you can.
Large group share out:
Place these rights under one of the 4 categories posted on the board.

Reread rest of essay with an eye for 3 examples of ways civil rights were violated and how.
Complete and submit a flipgrid in which you complete the following tasks:
Restate the class thesis
provide 3 examples of a civil right that was violated specifically how was it violated
HW:
Choose one of your examples and write it on a sheet of colored paper. You need to explain how that evidence shows how a RIGHT is not being upheld, a BROKEN PROMISE. (2-4 sentences in length)
